Marilyn

Hola.
Here's my story.

NOTE
Hi, I’m Marilyn, the author of “So maybe I’m a loser, babe. Just remember I’m the coolest loser you’ll ever know.” The title is random. I created that line myself. Has most likely nothing to do with this bitter sweet romance. Oh freaking well. ENJOY.

Chapter 1

Cara Ross pushed her black hair behind her shoulder. The cold October air blew past her. She looked up at the sky.

“Fantastic. It’s going to rain” She thought to herself and pulled the hood of her jacket up over her head. She kept walking not really thinking about anything.

“Boo!” Cara jumped and heard and familiar chuckle behind her. “Hello, Cara Cake. Ready for your birthday party?” Alex Rhodes asked his best friend and wrapped his arms around her waist hugging her tightly. “Alex! Don’t do that!” Cara struggled and tried to escape his grip. “And don’t call me Cara Cake! I’m not five-years-old anymore I’m 15.”

Alex let her go and she punched him in the arm. “Sorry. Didn’t know you were in such a bad mood. Gosh. Are you ready?”
“For?”
“Your birthday party, silly little girl,” he chuckled again, “Don’t tell me you forgot.”
“ I didn’t. I just wanted to go get changed then go to your house.” She told him obviously lying.
You look fantastic!” Alex took her hand in his and began to run, “C’mon we are gonna’ be late!”
“ I don’t want to go, Alex! Let me go!” Cara ran with him.
“ And miss out on your chance to play truth or dare?”
“When you put it that way.” She laughed.
“ That’s what I thought.” Alex told her as they showed up at his house.

The Big Ol' Contest!

Allright, here's the deal.

Comment here with a new title for , A) The Demon Band, and B) A trilogy of books involving demons curses and magic.

I'll take the best and use them.

The Demon Band: Chapter 4

Richard rushed around the apartment, desperately trying to find the card with Alex’s insurance information.
“Where is it?” He muttered under his breath.
Tara seemed more worried, which was odd since she only knew him for three days.
“Oh no. Oh no! This is bad!” She kept yelling out as she ran around frantically.
“Calm down Tara, he’s fine.”
“How hurt is he, Richard?”
“The guy on the phone said that he was fine except one of his fingers was ripped off, but they can sew it back on.”
At this, Tara became even more worried.
“Oh no, it’s too late!” She yelled.
It was then that Alex found the card.
“Found it!” He shouted as he began to stand up.
“All right, lets-” He stopped. “Tara?” He looked around.
Tara was gone.

Richard rushed to the hospital, ignoring Tara’s odd disappearance. When he finally got there, he was directed up to Alex’s room.
“So, how long are you going to be here?” Asked Richard.
“Two days, I’m going into surgery soon. What took so long?” Alex responded.
“I had trouble getting your insurance info.”
“Oh.”
“By the way, Tara was acting weird, and then she just disappeared.”
“Who?” Asked Alex.
When Richard heard that he wanted to shoot himself.
“I swear to god, you have gone insane.” He said to himself before he exploded in rage. “Tara! Your girlfriend!”
Alex looked confused.
“You mean that girl from the other night? Why was she at our place, and why do you think she’s my girlfriend?” He asked.
Richard rubbed his head. It was then that he looked at Alex and noticed a change. (Other than the missing finger.) His eyes were back to normal! That was when he knew what to do.
“Do you remember kissing her?”
“No.”
“Do you at least remember walking her home?”
“Yeah.”
“What was her address?”
Alex wrote it down and Richard left as he was prepped for surgery.
It took Richard a while to find the apartment building. When he did, he went in and spoke to the manager.
“Hi, a friend of mine lives in apartment 9 can you tell me where it is?” He asked.
“Apartment 9? No one lives in apartment 9 but a rat.” The manager responded.
Richard had just walked out when it hit him.
“Duh!” He said to himself before he walked back inside and asked for the key to apartment.
When he got up to the apartment, he unlocked the door and saw Tara looking like she was going to cry but couldn’t. (He didn’t know that she really couldn’t)
She looked up and saw him staring at her.
“So you figured it out then?” She asked.
“Yeah.”
“Then you know that there is no hope for this world.”
“What? No. I thought that by ‘it’ you meant that ‘a rat’ it Tara backwards.”
“I suppose you might as well know.”
Tara slowly took the strange, mummy-like, wrappings off of her arms. And her real arms were truly frightening. They looked withered, old, dead. And on her palms were two eyes, staring out at him.
“Have fun.”
She approached him and placed her exposed palms over each of his eyes.
“This should be a jolting experience for you.” She told him as he was stunned and confused.

There was a bright flash and everything went black.

Everything's Magic Chapter 4

The drive home was silent. I glanced over to Jeph, who was glaring out the window. The clock in the car read 10:54. Dad would be home, and we would be in deep trouble. Jeph didn't stand a chance against him and neither did I. We would both probably get knocked out in one or two hits. Jeph had already gotten beaten up by some jerks on the way to get Liam's stupid book, and I was falling asleep.

In the drivers seat, Liam glanced nervously at the two of us. He and Ronnie are the only people that know what our dad puts us through, and they would do anything to keep us safe. He knows that if our dad's home, then we could possibly get seriously injured... Or worse. Suddenly, the shrill ring of his phone disturbed the silence. "Hey Ronnie." He said into the reciever. "What's up? Yeah, we're a few blocks away from their place. They're fine. Leah's shaking, though." I'm shaking? Didn't realize that. "Don't worry, I'll be home soon. Gosh, you're such a kid sometimes." I thought I saw Jeph smile at the remark. "Okay, okay, I know, you don't have to tell me again. Yeah, sure. Bye." He hung up and turned on to our street. I saw that the lights in our house were off. Good and bad. That means that Dad's either not home, he's sleeping, or he's actually using his brain and he devised a plan.

We pulled up and got out of the car. I helped Jeph up to the front steps and we both waved goodbye to Liam, who drove off. I fumbled with the house key around my neck and finally opened the door. Well. Dad used his brain. He was sitting in the armchair in the living room, waiting for us. He grinned, got up, and came over to where we were standing. "Well," He began, "looks like the little kiddies have been out late. You know what this means. I see it in your eyes. Fear. I guess we should get this over with." His fist smashed against Jeph's chest, and he was taken out instantly. Then he turned to me. I was thrown against the stairs and, in seconds, blacked out.

This happens almost every week. We're getting sick of it. I think it's time to escape.

The Demon Band: Chapter 3

Richard awoke at eight in the morning to Alex slamming the door as he came in.
“Were you gone all night?” Asked Richard.
“Yeah, Tara and I went shopping.” Replied Alex.
Richard couldn’t see clearly for the first few minutes. Once his eyes adjusted, he saw the big difference.
“What happened to your eyes?” Richard yelled.
Alex’s eyes were very different. Where they had once been blue they were now a black so dark it was frightening.
“What are you talking about?” Said Alex.
“Look!”
They walked over to the bathroom mirror.
“I don’t see anything.” Said Alex.
“Are you insane?”
“Look, I had better go home.”
Alex walked out the door. Richard rushed out after him.
“You live here!” He yelled down the hall.
Alex turned around and looked at him.
“Oh, okay.” Said Alex as he walked back.

Richard was confused all day, especially during their practice. Alex played like a drunken pig.
“What is wrong with you?” Asked Richard.
“My fingers feel bigger for some reason.”
“Okay, what happened last night?”
“Well if you really must know, we kissed!”
“What?”
“You heard me. By the way, Tara is coming over tomorrow.”
“Fine.”
Richard decided to accept the inexplicable change.

The next day, when Tara was at their place, Alex went out to get some food. He had been gone for an hour.
“Where is he?” Asked Tara
The phone rang and Richard answered it.
“Hello. Yes. What!”
He turned his head to Tara.
“Alex was hit by a car!”

Everything's Magic Chapter 3

We went into the living room to see Ronnie petting a dog. A little furry chihuahua by the looks of it. "This is Scraps!" Ronnie said, in a very high, very cute voice. "We got him yesterday!" "He's so cute!" I exclaimed. Scraps was currently sitting and staring at me with huge puppy eyes. He then pounced on me and started licking my face. I saw the boys laughing while Ronnie said, "Aw look, Lee! He loves you!" When Scraps got off of me, I was covered in doggy kisses. He quickly pounced on to Jeph, who giggled childishly.

After meeting Scraps, we went to Liam's room, where all the games were at. I sat in the recliner in the corner while the boys argued on whether to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 or Final Fantasy 12. They decided to play FF12. When they put the disk in, they realized that the Playstation was not plugged in. "Liam!" Ronnie whined. "Plug it in! Hurry!" "Yeah!" Jeph whined with him. "Okay! Okay!" Liam said, as he hurried to plug it in. "Happy?" The other two boys shook their heads rapidly up and down. "Ow..." Ronnie said, after the rapid head shaking.

A few hours went by, so we decided to heat up some pizza. "Liam!" Ronnie whined. Again. "We want pizza now!" "God, Ronnie!" Liam said from the other room. "Learn to be patient!" A few minutes went by and the pizza was finished. "Finally!" Jeph exclaimed. "We were starving!" I laughed as the boys ran into the kitchen to get their pizza, nearly knocking over Liam who was standing in the doorway. "Kids these days." Liam muttered. They emerged with two plates full of pizza and came over to sit next to me. Jeph shared his plate with me while Ronnie shared with Liam.

After eating pizza, we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas (Ronnie and Jeph's "most favoritist movie ever"). "Hey, Jeph," Liam said from across the room. "Could you get my book? Here are the keys." He handed Jeph his car keys and Jeph went out to get the book. About ten minutes passed by and we started to get worried. It had only taken us about four minutes to walk from Liam's car to the house. Finally, Jeph staggered through the front door covered in cuts and bruises.

"Jeph," Ronnie cried, "What the hell happened to you?"
